WEBGIANT · LEGAL & COMPLIANCE
Cookie & Tracking Policy
Effective 24 September 2026 · Version 1.0
Effective date: 24 September 2026
1. What this policy covers
This policy explains how WebGiant uses cookies and similar storage/access technologies on its own websites. Client websites hosted by WebGiant are controlled by the relevant client unless WebGiant separately determines the tracking purposes.
2. Categories
| Category | Purpose | Default approach |
|---|---|---|
| Strictly necessary / security | Session integrity, load balancing, authentication, fraud prevention, consent preferences and essential website operation. | May be used without optional consent where legally permitted. |
| Functional | Remember settings and requested preferences. | Use only where lawful; where consent is not legally required, still provide clear information and an objection/control where appropriate. |
| Analytics / measurement | Understand site performance and usage. | For global simplicity, WebGiant should block until consent unless the exact deployment clearly qualifies for a jurisdiction-specific exemption and the compliance decision is documented. |
| Advertising / remarketing | Ad measurement, audience building, targeted advertising and cross-site tracking. | Do not activate before valid consent where required. Treat as optional globally unless a reviewed jurisdiction-specific configuration is implemented. |
3. Current cookie inventory
| Provider / cookie | Category | Purpose | Retention |
|---|---|---|---|
| wg_consent_v1 | Necessary | Stores consent choice | 180 days |
| WordPress / security session cookies (where used) | Necessary | Security / session operation | Session or platform-defined period |
| None declared / verify before enabling analytics | Analytics | Traffic and performance measurement | Verify provider setting |
| None declared / verify before enabling advertising pixels | Advertising | Campaign measurement / remarketing | Verify provider setting |
4. Managing cookies
Visitors can use our cookie-preference control and may also manage cookies through their browser. Browser controls may affect website functionality. Where applicable, WebGiant will also respect legally recognised browser-based privacy signals for activities covered by those laws.
